Ten tablets of 50 milligrams (mg) sitagliptin phosphate are available for Rs 60 while those of 100 mg are available for Rs 100. On the other hand, sitagliptin and metformin hydrochloride in the ratio 50mg/500mg will be available for Rs 65 per 10 tablets, while a 50mg/1000mg mix will be available for Rs 70. Under the generic, the combination of sitagliptin and metformin will also be available in Jan Aushadhi stores soon.
Up to 8700 Jan Aushadhi stores in the country
Currently there are 8700 Jan Aushadhi stores selling 1600 medicines in India. Soon, 138 more drugs will be added to this category and can be sold as generics at cheaper prices. 138 new drugs were also identified. They are expected to hit generic stores by the end of this year.
